On January 22, Mnet officially announced, “iKON is currently in talks to appear in ‘Kingdom.’ We are in the middle of adjusting the final details. “

The network added, “We will announce the rest of the lineup in addition to iKON, The Boyz, ATEEZ and Stray Kids very soon. The first broadcast is scheduled to air in April. “

Following the huge success of “Queendom” in 2019, Mnet announced that they would be releasing a male version of the show titled “Kingdom.” However, unlike “Queendom”, the male version began with a preliminary season called “Road to Kingdom”, in which seven boy groups competed for a spot in the final “Kingdom” lineup. The show aired last year, with The Boyz emerging as the show’s final winner.

Mnet revealed during the 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) last month that Stray Kids and ATEEZ would also be joining the idol competition show.
