PETALING JAYA: Ikea Damansara will remain closed until further notice after Covid-19 infections were detected among staff members and service partners.
The positive cases were found after one of their scheduled routine tests.
Ikea Damansara said that the Health Ministry had advised its management to close its store yesterday, to allow a full contact tracing and disinfection to take place.
“We will continue to implement all necessary security measures, including replacement of service partner workers, contact tracing, swab testing, quarantine for all close contacts, and disinfection.
“We are working closely with the authorities and will act on their advice,” he said in a Facebook post yesterday.
He added that customers who may be close contacts of positive cases at the store will be contacted by public health officials.
“The safety and general well-being of our clients, co-workers, partners and community is our top priority. We will continue to work closely with public health officials and ensure necessary measures in our stores.
“Fighting the pandemic is a shared responsibility. Let’s do our part by following the government’s instructions to prevent further spread of the Covid-19 virus, ”he said.
