Azmin Ali says that the PN leadership does not want anyone to act irresponsibly and cause instability in the government.

KUALA LUMPUR: Perikatan Nasional (PN) Chief Information Officer Mohamed Azmin Ali has expressed hope that the Umno leadership will reconsider its decision to end its cooperation with PPBM in the upcoming general elections (GE15).

Azmin, who was instrumental in the formation of the PN after the collapse of the Pakatan Harapan government, said the PN was willing to cooperate with all sectors to ensure that the government led by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin remained stable and strong.

“We hope that the Umno leadership will reconsider the decision … PN was formed with noble ambitions, therefore, unity is vital, we have to defend the constitution and the law (because) we want to protect the stability of the country,” he quoted. as Bernama says.

“We do not want any neighborhood to act irresponsibly and cause instability in the government because, in the end, it is the people who will suffer,” he said when meeting reporters in Taman Keramat here today.

Meanwhile, when asked to comment on the PPBM Supreme Council meeting yesterday, Azmin said the party decided to continue its efforts to foster strong unity and harmony within the PN.

“We will ensure that PN members adhere to the principles on which PN governance is based to ensure stability and good governance,” Azmin said.

“Besides that, the PN guarantees the independence of the judiciary and also upholds the supremacy of the constitution and the law to guarantee justice for all Malaysians,” he said.

Azmin, who was vice president of the PKR prior to this, left the party with several other leaders last year, prompting the collapse of the previous government and the formation of the new government that saw Umno working with PPBM and the PKR splinter group. Most of the dissident group has now joined PPBM.

The Gombak member of parliament said the people need a stable and strong government to ensure an effective delivery system to revive the economy of the country affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
