Originally released in February, Huawei today has officially announced the availability of the MateBook X Pro 2020 Portable for Malaysia. While it may seem almost identical to its predecessor, the 2020 model offers several updates compared to the 2019 version.

For starters, there is a new chip inside the 2020 model in the form of the Intel Core i7-10510U along with the NVIDIA GeForce MX250 graphics with 2GB of GDDR5 VRAM. While Huawei still retains the 16GB LPDDR3-2133 RAM within the 2020 version of MateBook X Pro, the Malaysian drive for the Core i7 variant now comes with 1TB of storage instead of 512GB based on the 2019 release.

Huawei has also added a new color scheme called Emerald Green, although for its launch in Malaysia, it can initially only be obtained from Space Gray. The company will announce availability for the new color at a later date.

Apart from these differences, it seems that Huawei has retained many characteristics of the previous model. Weighing around 1.33kg, the MateBook X Pro 2020 still has a 13.9-inch LTPS touchscreen with a 3000 x 2000 resolution along with a 1MP pop-up webcam, 56.4 Wh battery, and the support for Huawei Share function.

The new MateBook X Pro 2020 will be available in Malaysia from May 16 onwards with a price of RM 7,999. Customers who bought the new laptop well in advance will receive the equally new Huawei Sound X wireless speaker that the company co-designed with Devialet, as well as a Huawei Band 4, a Huawei Bluetooth mouse, and a Huawei backpack.
