Hoping for a ‘happy ending’ in Khairuddin’s endless investigation

Khairuddin investigation: AGC seeks more details

Vijay47: Most of the criticism from the public focuses on why a simple case like non-compliance with the Covid-19 SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) requirements should take this incredible period of time, made worse only by the police apparently reproducing the same record over and over. once again, we are repeatedly assured that the crime is being thoroughly investigated.

At a more basic level, assuming that the police are not competent enough to conduct a proper examination the first time, how many times should they be instructed by the Attorney General’s Office, or alternatively, is it the AGC itself that continues to issue new points to pursue? ?

But in reality, the plot has long lost all connection with the original failure of the Minister of Plantations Industries and Commodities, Khairuddin Aman Razali, to follow quarantine rules; The problem has now assumed much more serious proportions involving not only the PDRM (Royal Malaysian Police) and the Ministry of Health, but perhaps the entire now infected government machine.

Every facet of the case is a horror story in its own right, and authorities seem to have learned a great lesson from the biggest mistake regarding the claim much later that “the compound was paid on August 7.”

Countless points need to be verified, a task that I am sure former Minister Teresa Kok would be more than happy to offer. These would include the following:

1. With Covid raging in full bloom, who gave the Khairuddin delegation authority to travel to Turkey? In fact, was the approval actually given or was it an afterthought?

2. Even if approval had been granted, what was so urgent that he and the others were forced to visit during these difficult times when the entire country was urged to take safety precautions to stay home?

3. Was it an official or private excursion? If he was an officer, what was his family doing accompanying him? And if it was private, why the officers? If both, is that now the usual practice?

4. Who paid the family expenses? In what class did they travel and in which star hotel did they stay? Was everyone entitled to this?

5. What was the actual program during your visit, who were the Turkish officials you met? What were the topics discussed and the result?

6. Apart from Turkey, did the delegation visit any other countries? Were those sections of the trip also approved? No doubt, Kok can easily confirm this by quick scrutiny of the respective passports.

7. Has Khairuddin succeeded in attracting a Turkish investment of RM82 billion in Malaysia, as stated by Baling MP Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim? Is there documentary evidence of this, or at least an MOU (memorandum of understanding)? Remember, kindly Arabs do not come from Turkey.

8. If there were no such investments, would Azeez now be referred to the Privilege Committee for allegedly lying in Parliament?

9. On what date was the compound rate paid, whatever the amount? If on August 7, why did the minister declare even weeks later that this matter had not yet been finalized?

It can be seen that many countless points must fit together – outbound flight manifests, hotel check-in, and inbound flight details all need to fit together seamlessly. Even the payment of the compound fee must match the receipt numbers, computer records, and deposited amounts.

In general, it is not a very comfortable thing to wait for. And it still needs to be approved with Kok.

I should also mention that the undue delay in completing the investigation is not due to the above nine questions needing to be resolved. Far from there.

The real reason is that suitable answers must be invented so that the entire episode can be given a cloak of pristine white, so that the house of cards does not collapse.

As I said earlier, no more “the compound rate was paid on August 7.”

New day: We already know that the AGC returned the investigative papers a few days ago with the pathetic reason to obtain more witness statements. When will this charade end?

The entire nation has witnessed the antics and cover-ups that violate the law by the minister. We have also witnessed the apparent collusion between government officials and the minister with the dubious RM 1,000 complex.

The nation still does not know the state of quarantine break of the rest of the minister’s party. This has been kept quiet. All we have now are cover-ups, lies, delays, and collusion.

Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, speaking on good governance and the rule of law, is silent on this. You are the boss? Or are you, really?

Fortis Est Veritas: The AGC and PDRM are like Dickens’s Office of Circumlocution. It takes forever to do something so embarrassingly simple.

Or are they playing with their thumbs with nothing to do? Or maybe they feign ineffectiveness?

Hmmmmmmmm: Are you looking for a ‘happy ending, a win-win situation’ here, as in the case of Indira Gandhi? Or waiting to see the result of the PKR leader Anwar Ibrahim’s claim for a change of government?

If Anwar is successful, I will bet my bottom dollar that the investigation will suddenly be completed and this minister will be charged immediately, assuming he is not one of Anwar’s backers.

Coward: Either the police are incompetent, or some in the police and AGC are trying to prolong this for an as yet unknown reason. This case may be more complex than we think, but it is unlikely.

One thing is for sure, we have to keep up the pressure. We want justice, however long it takes. That is not because of our ego, but we have to be fair to all those who were punished for doing the same.

GrayDeer5393: I don’t think anything at this point can quell public dissatisfaction with double standards. They might as well bite the bullet.
