PUTRAJAYA: Christmas visits will only be limited to private gatherings of no more than 20 people at a time on December 25, says Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
He said this ruling applied to areas in recovery and conditional motion control order (MCO), while in places under enhanced MCO, only family gatherings were allowed.
The 20 person limit is for real estate only.
For apartments and condos, the maximum number of visitors at a time is 10 for units of 1,500 square feet or less, and 20 for units of 1,500 to 2,500 square feet.
Church prayer sessions will also be allowed in the recovery and conditional MCO areas, but for a limited time.
Ismail said that on Christmas Eve (December 24), mass would be allowed in the church between 5 pm and 9:30 pm, and up to two sessions at most.
“Each session is limited to an hour and a half. After the first session, a 45-minute disinfection exercise should be performed before the second session.
“So, for example, if the first session is from 5 pm to 6:30 pm, the church should do 45 minutes of disinfection and the second session can start after 7:15 pm,” Ismail Sabri said.
For Mass on Christmas Day, he said the time for Mass would be 7 a.m. M. A 1.45 p. M., And it would be limited to three sessions.
The 45-minute disinfection exercise is also applied between sessions.
Churches must also set up counters to verify the temperature and the QR code.
The number of parishioners allowed is based on the SOPs of existing places of worship.
Churches in the green, yellow and orange zones are limited to 300 people, depending on the size of the church.
For the red zones, there cannot be more than 30 faithful at the same time.
