PUTRAJAYA: The ministry of higher education wants all institutions of higher education (IPT) to postpone the return of their students, as well as the registration of new students, from the red zone areas on their respective campuses, which is scheduled to begin next month.
His Minister Noraini Ahmad said that the registration and learning process for affected students could be done online.
“Students can return to their respective campuses in accordance with the prescribed SOPs after the situation improves,” he said in a statement issued following the increase in Covid-19 cases in various districts of the country.
For students who are not from the red zone areas, he said they must register during the specified dates as indicated in the academic calendar of the respective IPT.
He said that all IPTs had also been instructed to ensure that the implementation of academic activities on campus complies with prescribed SOPs, prioritizing security measures.
Students are also advised to continue taking preventative measures, such as washing their hands frequently, wearing face masks and observing physical distancing, he added.
