What’s remarkable is that Apple has kept the same starting prices as the previous-generation iPhone 11. Last year’s entry-level iPhone 11 starts from RM3,399 and this is the new starting price for the iPhone 12 mini. Meanwhile, the iPhone 11 Pro at launch was priced at RM4,899 while the Max ran from RM5,299. It’s also worth noting that the iPhone 12 Pro series now comes with a starting storage capacity of 128GB instead of 64GB.
At the moment, the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro are already listed on the Apple Malaysia website, but they have not revealed the details of availability yet. In first wave countries like the US, Australia, UK and Singapore, pre-order for the iPhone 12 Pro series will begin this Friday, October 16, and will be available on November 6. The iPhone 12 and 12 mini will be released much later with pre-order starting on October 16 and November 6 respectively in the first wave countries.
The iPhone 12 and 12 mini come in 5 colors: blue, green, black, white, and red. For the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max, they are available in graphite, silver, gold, and Pacific Blue. All models in the range support 5G and all come with OLED-based Super Retina XDR display. Even the most affordable iPhone 12 mini now has a Full HD + resolution of 2340 × 1080 pixels.
For the first time, Apple no longer includes the charger and headphones in the box as part of its sustainability efforts. The new packaging is smaller and only comes with a USB-C to Lightning cable.
