Helicopter crashes in Taman Melawati after mid-air collision

KUALA LUMPUR: A helicopter crashed into Taman Melawati here after being involved in a mid-air collision on Sunday (November 8)

It was learned that the plane crashed in a housing area behind a Tamil school, and the first indications are that there are four victims of the accident: three men and one woman.

Fire and Rescue Department and police personnel as well as rescue personnel are on the scene, as well as Gombak deputy Datuk Seri Azmin Ali.

When found at the scene, Datuk Seri Azmin Ali said he was informed of some casualties and that the other helicopter landed safely.

“It is an unfortunate event. There are casualties but we have yet to determine how many,” he said.

Azmin said he was informed of the incident while attending a program in Bukit Antarabangsa on Sunday morning.

“We hope that the relevant authorities, such as the Fire and Rescue Department, as well as the police, can investigate the matter thoroughly. We will await more information while the investigation continues,” he added.
