SERDANG: Front-line healthcare staff will receive a one-time payment of RM 500 from March 1, Health Minister Dr Adham Baba said today.
“This one-time assistance is in addition to the special Covid-19 allowance of 600 RM per month for the former, which has been paid since March last year.
“This assistance is for front-line personnel who are directly involved in handling Covid-19-related tasks,” he said after visiting Putra Malaysia University teaching hospital, here today.
The single payment was announced by the prime minister on January 18 among the measures contained in the Permai stimulus and aid package.
Adham said that the UPM university hospital has been selected as one of the vaccination centers for the Covid-19 immunization program, which will begin on February 26.
Seven staff members, including doctors and nurses, would be stationed at each vaccine injection facility, and 210 vaccine recipients are expected to inject each day, it added.
