TUARAN: The president of Sabah Perikatan Nasional (PN), Datuk Hajiji Noor, will take legal action against those who viralized a video claiming that he seized land belonging to villagers and handed it over to his company.

The Sabah Bersatu chief said he planned to file a police report and file a civil lawsuit against the perpetrators, who appeared to be targeting his campaign in Sabah’s 16 state elections.

“(The accusation) is not true. I am referring this matter to my attorney, including the lawsuit. This is slander and not fact. You can say anything in politics but tell the truth; do not speak without thinking. This is a desperate act, ”he said.

Hajiji, who is defending Sulaman’s seat, said this after a meet and greet program in Kampung Selaud, Tuaran, about 40 km from Kota Kinabalu, today. Also in attendance was Bersatu Vice President and Malacca State Executive Councilor Datuk Mohd Rafiq Naizamohideen.

The video, which has gone viral on social media, alleges that Hajiji seized 30 acres of land in Kuala Tongol, Tuaran, and transferred it to his company.

In this statewide election, the six-term Sulaman Assemblyman faces a three-way fight with PCS candidate Datuk Rekan Hussein and Warisan’s Datuk Aliasgar Basir, who is also his nephew.

Earlier, Hajiji urged people to make the right decision in Saturday’s polls to improve their well-being, which he said had been neglected by the Warisan-led government.

“This is a golden opportunity. We don’t want to hear any more stories from the opposite side who claimed that they had done various things for the people of Sabah. We want a developed state whose security is guaranteed, ”he said.

In his speech, Mohd Rafiq said that he believed that the people of Sabahans are capable of making an intelligent decision to choose a government aligned with the federal government for the sake of development and progress. – Named
