TUARAN: Sabah Perikatan Nasional (PN) President Hajiji Noor will take legal action against those who had viralized a video claiming that he had confiscated land that belonged to the villagers and handed it over to his company.
The head of Sabah PPBM said he planned to file a police report and file a civil suit against those responsible, who appeared to be targeting his campaign in the 16 Sabah elections.
“(The accusation) is not true.
“I am referring this matter to my attorney, including the lawsuit. This is slander and not fact.
“You can say anything in politics but tell the truth; do not speak without thinking. This is a desperate act. “
Hajiji, who is defending Sulaman’s seat, said this after a welcome program in Kampung Selaud, Tuaran, 40 km from Kota Kinabalu, today.
Also in attendance was PPBM Vice President and Melaka State Executive Counsel Mohd Rafiq Naizamohideen.
The video, which went viral on social media, alleged that Hajiji had confiscated 12ha of land in Kuala Tongol, Tuaran, and transferred it to his company.
In this statewide election, the six-term Sulaman Assemblyman faces a three-way fight with Parti Cinta Sabah candidate Rekan Hussein and Aliasgar Basir de Warisan, who is also his nephew.
Earlier, Hajiji urged people to make the right decision in Saturday’s polls to improve their well-being, which he said had been neglected by the Warisan-led government.
“This is a golden opportunity. We don’t want to hear any more stories from the opposite side claiming to have done various things for the people of Sabah. We want a developed state whose security is guaranteed ”.
In his speech, Rafiq said that he believed that the people of Sabahans are capable of making an intelligent decision when choosing a government aligned with the federal government for the sake of development and progress.
