The GSC movie chain has come up with a pretty far-fetched idea to make use of its large screens while the movies are slow. And that’s renting it out to players.

The idea is simple, if a little wild. You can basically rent a whole movie theater for three hours, and during those three hours you can play the game in the room with your friends as if you were watching a movie. The idea is similar to the private screen auditoriums at the Aurum Theater at GSC The Gardens Mall.
Of course, doing this comes at a high price. Just renting a movie theater costs RM 188 for the three hours. And if you want to extend your time like you would at a karaoke venue, GSC lets you do it for RM70 an hour.
Alternatively, if you really want to throw a big party out of this, you can pay RM250 for the first three hours to get some snacks like popcorn to go with it as well. GSC says these are worth up to RM75, and is also adding RM200 food and drink vouchers on top of that. But opting for this makes the extension price per hour go up to RM 100.
As for the cinemas you can do this with, GSC says it’s available at its Queensbay Mall, Ipoh Parade, AEON Bandaraya Melaka and Paradigm Mall Johor outlets. The company will make more locations available in time, but all of this will only last until December 31.
