KUALA LUMPUR: The Perikatan Nasional government should ban all forms of entertainment activities that go against Islamic laws, says Abdul Latiff Abdul Rahman (PN-Kuala Krai).

“I urge a ban on all entertainment events that go against Islamic laws, even more so when Muslims are still celebrating the birth of the Prophet Muhammad,” he said during his 2021 budget debate speech in Parliament on Monday. (November 6th).

Abdul Latiff also said that such entertainment activities were inappropriate and outrageous, as most Malaysians are still recovering from the economic effects of Covid-19.

“The organizers did not take into account the sensitivity and the catastrophe that the nation is currently facing,” he added.

Earlier in his speech, Abdul Latiff also praised the government for allocating 1.4 billion ringgit for Islamic affairs, which he said is an increase compared to his previous allocations.

“This shows how important Islamic development is, as the current government places a strong emphasis on it,” he added.
