PUTRAJAYA: All government departments and service counters are open for business again, says Chief Security Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

Speaking at his daily Covid-19 crisis management press conference here, he said that this includes the Department of Highway Transportation which was reopened to the public today.

“All standard operating procedures must be followed,” he added, citing the use of hand sanitizer, compliance with social distancing rules and temperature controls at entrances.

He said departments would also need to disinfect the site before operations begin.

Most departments have been closed since the motion control order was implemented on March 18.

Ismail said that up to 95% of Malaysians adhered to the government SOP, with Pahang, Melaka and Penang at 98%.

He also said that authorities have so far disinfected 9,732 government, commercial and public places.

A total of 14,496 people are also undergoing mandatory quarantine, of the 32,692 Malaysians who have returned home so far.
