PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said that government agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and community leaders will mobilize to entice the public to register for Covid-19 vaccination.

He also said that village chiefs and village security and development committees were mobilized to attract people in rural areas of Sabah and Sarawak, and the Orang Asli Development Department to encourage the Orang Asli community to do the same.

“I firmly believe that with the support (from all sectors), all our efforts to combat the pandemic will be successful and the implementation of the National Covid-19 Immunization Program will run smoothly,” he said at a press conference after launching the National Covid. -19 Immunization Program Manual Today.

Also present were the Minister of Health Datuk Seri Dr. Adham Baba and the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Khairy Jamaluddin, who is the co-chair of the Special Committee on Guarantee of Access to the Supply of Covid-19 Vaccines (JKJAV).

On the temporary acquisition of privately owned assets, facilities and resources under the Covid-19 emergency proclamation, he said that the cooperation of the private sector has been good.

“They are prepared to give all kinds of assistance and support. Private hospitals, for example, are ready to provide beds, medical equipment, doctors, nurses, and other necessary personnel.

“Although the issues are enshrined in the emergency proclamation, the good response of the private sector has meant that we do not have to enforce anything of the provisions of the (emergency) ordinance,” he said.

Meanwhile, Khairy said protocols have been put in place at vaccination centers to ensure that doses of the Covid-19 vaccine are not wasted, with some countries reporting wastage due to non-presentation of recipients or lack of equipment, as special syringes.

“Excess doses that have not been used because people did not show up will be handed over to security personnel and people who volunteer at the vaccination centers so there is no waste,” he said.

Commenting on the same issue, Dr. Adham said that the Health Ministry had conducted a trial on January 29 to ensure that the vaccine could be safely delivered to vaccination centers, especially in remote areas.

He said the 600 vaccination sites would be equipped with the necessary facilities, such as power supply, ultra-low temperature freezer (ULTF), and stock loading to store the vaccine.

It is known that the Cabinet also agreed that the Ministry of Health would prepare a special vaccine injury plan that would be announced in due course.

Singapore has introduced a vaccine injury financial assistance program for Covid-19 vaccines with a one-time payment of between S $ 10,000 (RM30,000) and S $ 225,000 (RM685,000) to be provided to individuals who are severely affected or died as a result of taking the Covid-19 vaccine. – Called
