ROYAL Selangor Golf Club will suspend all sporting activities as of Wednesday (October 28) for a thorough reorganization process in all its facilities.

The club said the move was necessary after one of its members “who played golf at the weekend” tested positive for Covid-19.

“The main hall will remain open only for beverage services.

“A new announcement will be made on Friday (October 30) afternoon regarding the sports activities at the club.

“Management is working closely with (health) authorities on Covid-19 testing for all staff and caddies. Management will keep members informed accordingly, ”the golf club announced on Tuesday (October 27) evening.

Royal Selangor’s announcement comes shortly after TPC Kuala Lumpur also announced that a member who visited the club had tested positive for Covid-19.

“From now on, and in accordance with government regulations, as of October 27, 2020, the TPC will be temporarily closed until further notice for a full sanitation and disinfection exercise,” it said in a notice to its members.

“We work closely with the relevant authorities and we stand firm in maintaining the highest safety standards for our members.”

In both cases, the clubs said their members would be kept informed of any new developments.

Royal Selangor and TPC Kuala Lumpur are among the most famous golf clubs in Malaysia.
