KUALA LANGAT: Seven Sungai Emas apartment blocks and townhouses in Taman Sungai Emas here have been placed under a directed movement control (MCO) order from October 28 to November 10.
The townhouses affected by the target MCO are those located at Jalan Emas 31 and Jalan Emas 32 in the urbanization.
Kuala Langat district official Mohd Jusni Hashim said all residents of the flats and townhouses were Malaysians.
He said that Bah Manggis’ group, as it has been named, is linked to case number 12,866, which was hospitalized in Tawau, Sabah.
“The group has grown to the seventh generation to date and has 65 positive cases, 63 of them detected in Kuala Langat,” Jusni said.
The other two cases were one in Tawau and Rembau, Negri Sembilan respectively.
He added that the district health department had been conducting contact tracing and testing for the group since Oct. 18.
Mohd Jusni added that 1,923 people have been identified and tested.
“Students from 10 schools and two kindergartens located near the Bah Manggis cluster were also tested,” he added.
From the tests conducted, two students were found to be positive for Covid-19, he added.
According to Mohd Jusni, door-to-door visits would also be conducted to screen out those who have not yet been tested for Covid-19.
