When it launched in September, Genshin Impact surprised gamers with a beautiful open world and a style of play that is not often seen in free games. Now developer MiHoYo is looking to change a few things that gamers say have become tedious after nearly a month of daily play, including the way fast travel works.
The changes have been announced in a MiHoYo blog post, as reported by The Gamer, addressing concerns raised in a series of player surveys submitted in-game by the developer. One of them is related to fast travel.
“Traversing the game world takes a long time, I want to be able to set my own teleportation landmarks for the areas I visit frequently,” read the summary comments from the players. “We have developed an item that provides this type of function that will be available for free in a new system,” MiHoYo responded. “Travelers can look for this in version 1.1!”
While players can use both the unlocked teleportation landmarks and any statue of the seven as a fast travel point, some regular destinations, such as boss battles in the world, require a hike from a teleportation point or a tedious climb up a cliff.
MiHoYo hasn’t provided much more information on the next available article, although an alleged patch note 1.1 leak on Reddit describes a “Portable Teleporter”, which can be placed in any area, essentially serving as an additional teleportation landmark by up to 7 days. before it expires.
Patch 1.1 expires November 11 and promises to bring a number of major quality of life updates, including improvements to the much-maligned resin system, as well as a new roster of characters and weapons.
