Galaxy Z Flip 2 represented in renderings with vertical cameras

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip could be succeeded by a Galaxy Z Flip 2 with a great camera and display update. Two patents, discovered at EUIPO by LetsGoDigital and then reimagined in crystal-clear renderings, possibly reveal two versions.

LetsGoDigital

One version of the rumored phone is rendered with triple cameras positioned horizontally, like the current Galaxy Z Flip, while the other image has the camera’s sensors arranged vertically like other Samsung smartphones. The third camera is probably a telephoto lens. Please note that the current Galaxy Z Flip already has a 12 megapixel primary lens and a 12 megapixel ultra wide lens.

Note that the LetsGoDigital renderings show what an external screen (or “cover”) on the rumored phone could show a user. The vertical camera phone even seems to have more room for the external display to expand, perhaps allowing you to display more useful information while the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is closed.

If Samsung maintains its phone release schedule for the next year, then a new Galaxy Z Flip 2 will likely arrive in less than a year from now, in February 2021, possibly alongside the Galaxy S30.

So we are still a long way from any kind of revelation.

But these renders give us something to whet our appetite.
