Four New Covid-19 Clusters Detected

PUTRAJAYA: The Ministry of Health (MOH) today detected four new Covid-19 clusters involving Sabah, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur / Putrajaya and Sarawak, said Health Director General Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah. (pix)

He said Sabah’s Lahad Datu Softwood LD Cluster involved the index case that tested positive for symptomatic individuals on October 30.

He said that close contact screening tests detected a total of 13 more positive cases and all were placed at Payang PPR’s Low-Risk Covid-19 Quarantine and Treatment Center in Lahad Datu.

“As of noon today, a total of 109 people have been tested, 14 of whom tested positive, including 11 new cases. The other 95 are waiting for their results, ”he said today at a press conference on the developments of Covid-19 at the Ministry of Health.

In Selangor, the Teratai Cluster was detected in the Klang, Kuala Selangor, Petaling and Hulu Langat districts, involving the index case that also tested positive for symptomatic individuals on November 2.

He said the close contact examination detected 73 more positive cases and all were admitted to Sungai Buloh Hospital.

As of today, a total of 101 people have been tested, 74 tested positive, including 58 new cases, while 17 tested negative and another 10 are awaiting their results, he said.

Dr Noor Hisham said that the Damanlela cluster of construction sites, which was detected in Kuala Lumpur, involved the Lembah Pantai, Kepong and Titiwangsa districts.

“The index case tested positive on the arrest test on November 6. Close contact examination found 14 more positive cases and all were admitted to Sungai Buloh Hospital.

“As of noon today, 292 people have been tested and 15 tested positive, including 13 new cases. Another 269 tested negative while another eight are awaiting their results, “he said.

Another new cluster, the Mahkota Cluster, was also detected in the Hulu Selangor districts in Selangor; Kepong and Titiwangsa in Kuala Lumpur; Putrajaya as well as Sibu, Sarawak.

Dr. Noor Hisham said the index case tested positive for close contact screening on October 30 and was admitted to Sungai Buloh Hospital.

“Further close contact examinations found eight more positive cases. To date, a total of 56 people have been tested, nine of whom tested positive, 28 negative, while another 19 are awaiting their results.

Meanwhile, he declared the Bah Puchong Group involving Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Perak closed.

As of November 7, a total of 88 people from this group were tested, with 14 positive cases. The positivity rate for the group stood at 15.91 percent, while no deaths were recorded, he said. -Called
