PETALING JAYA: Four men were arrested for obstructing the police in the performance of their duties, says Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal.

It said police officers patrolling the Sea Park area around 11:45 pm on Sunday (December 6) stumbled upon four men on their motorcycles on the side of the road.

“They were revving their engines and making a lot of noise.

“When the policemen approached them, another man on his motorcycle came and revved the engine on purpose,” he said in a statement on Tuesday (November 8).

When policemen asked about his MyKad, one of the suspects questioned it and even yelled at them, he added.

“The four men, between 29 and 46 years old, were detained while one of them managed to escape.

“They have been detained for three days to facilitate investigations under Section 186 of the Penal Code for obstructing public officials in the performance of their duties,” he said.

Two of the suspects have criminal records and drug-related crimes, he added.

“We are in the middle of searching for the other suspect.

“We hope that the public can fully cooperate with law enforcement personnel who are just performing their duties,” said ACP Nik Ezanee.
