PETALING JAYA: Any plan by the opposition parties to take over the government will fail if they cannot work on their unit, which now appears fragile, says Penang’s Chief Deputy Minister P Ramasamy.
He said opposition parties must restart, recalibrate and reinvent to strengthen their forces if they hope to dislodge the Perikatan Nasional government.
“It remains to be seen whether there will be a great coalition of parties or not.
“But one thing is clear, without uniting the opposition, taking Putrajaya is a chimera,” he said today in a Facebook post, adding that while the “opposition grand coalition” was a good idea, it couldn’t just be formed. By herself. reason.
He said evicting the PN government would not be an easy task, adding that it was vital for opposition parties to devise an “unthinkable” approach to doing so.
He said irreconcilable differences between opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim and former Prime Minister Dr. Mahathir Mohamad must be resolved if the opposition wants to confront the PN.
“It may seem impossible, but how do you deal with the Muhyiddin Yassin government that took a backdoor approach to seizing power?” I ask.
He urged opposition parties to resolve their differences in the public interest.
“To begin with, I suggest that the leaders of the opposition parties meet in a closed forum for a frank debate and decide on issues of common concern.”
He said it was pertinent for certain leaders to first apologize for their past mistakes and hold themselves accountable before they could start over.
“The opposition must be transparent as to why it lost power after the GE14 victory and who was responsible for this debacle. We must assure the public that the debacle will not repeat itself in the future, ”he said.
