With the Proton X50 finally released, we now have full specs, equipment, and most importantly pricing for the new B-segment SUV from the national automaker. You can of course read our full release report and spec-by-spec breakdown, but if you’re someone who prefers to digest your news in video form, we’ve got you covered with our detailed video.

The X50 is available in four variants, with prices starting at 79,200 RM for the basic standard model. The Executive is next in 84,800 RM, while the Premium is sold in 93,200 RM. The flagship, er, flagship tops the range in 103,300 RM. All prices are uninsured highway and exempt from sales and service tax (SST). A five-year unlimited mileage warranty is included.

As everyone would have known by now, the X50 is based on the Geely Binyue / Coolray and comes with the same attractive design and futuristic interior. You also get the latest version of Geely Key’s UI, GKUI 19, which has a new design and is said to be more responsive compared to that of the X70.

The flagship model’s Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) is also more advanced than that of the X70. The new Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) combines Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Center Assist to provide Level 2 semi-autonomous driving capabilities. There’s also the new Parking Assist for entry and exit, plus autonomous emergency braking. , lane keeping assistant and automatic high beam.

Power comes from a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine in two variants. The Standard, Executive and Premium models get a port injection unit that generates 150 hp and 226 Nm of torque, generating a fuel consumption figure of 6.5 liters per 100 km.

The flagship receives a direct injection mill that drives 177 hp and 255 Nm, allowing it to reach 100 km / hin 7.9 seconds and achieve a fuel consumption figure of 6.4 liters per 100 km. All models are front-wheel drive and come with a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission.

Those are the basics, but what exactly does each variant have and what doesn’t, and is it worth the flagship’s around $ 100k price tag for the toys and extra safety features? Join our man Hafriz Shah as he gives you a closer look at the specs and equipment of each X50 variant. As usual, you can let us know what you think in the comments after the jump.
