KUALA LUMPUR: The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) will crack down on those who violate standard operating procedures (SOPs) during the silver car ride, along with Thaipusam, tomorrow.

Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador (pix) said the PDRM would monitor the carriage route from Sri Maha Mariamman Temple, Jalan Tun HS Lee, here, to Sri Subramaniaswamy Temple in Batu Caves.

He said that the (permitted) trip in question did not include moving in procession together or standing and observing by any individual or group along the route.

“Trade is not allowed along the road from Sri Maha Mariamman Temple to Sri Subramaniaswamy Temple, except those who already have permission from local authorities,” he said in a statement today.

In addition, Abdul Hamid said that only 10 people were allowed to accompany the car, that is, five members of the temple committee and five members of the staff.

Today, Chief Minister (Security Group) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob urged the public not to move in procession with the cart carrying the statues of Lord Murugan or to become spectators on the sides of the road following the Order of Movement Control (MCO). – Called
