PETALING JAYA: Parti Pejuang Tanah Air will heed Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s advice and ensure the country is politically stable, says its president Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad (Photo).

“The party will also cooperate in the country’s efforts to address the Covid-19 threat,” he said.

Welcoming the King’s decision not to issue a state of emergency proclamation, Dr. Mahathir said Pejuang also appreciated the ruler’s advice for politicians to reduce politicking.

“This is not limited only to opposition politicians, but also includes government politicians,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Dr. Mahathir expressed hope that the government and its politicians will put an end to actions such as “removing politicians who do not support the government from office and blocking allocations for elected representatives who do not support the government.”

“The government must also stop buying from supporters of opposition parties, forcing elections to be held and rejecting the registration of political parties like Pejuang,” he said.

Dr. Mahathir thanked the King for giving priority to the interests of the people by making a wise decision by rejecting the proposal to declare a state of emergency in the country.
