On September 16, the label of girl group FANATICS F-ENT issued an official statement of apology for a recent ‘V live‘controversy.
Netizens previously raised concerns about sexual harassment and violence after a recent ‘V Live’ broadcast with the members of FANATICS. At first, the broadcast began as a close-up of the members ‘faces, as the girls read the viewers’ comments and communicated with fans. Later, the camera was moved back to show the full profiles of the members.
The troublesome segment continued when a staff member tried to hand some of the FANATICS members blankets and jackets to cover their legs as they were wearing shorts or skirts. However, a male voice protested in the background saying: “Why are you trying to cover them? We are trying to show their legs.” Surprised, some of the members returned their jackets to other staff members outside the frame. Netizens later claimed that prominent slapping-like sounds could be heard in the background, roughly twice.
In response, F-ENT stated:
“We would like to first apologize to the members and fans of FANATICS, after we realized the seriousness of the situation that occurred during the broadcast of FANATICS ” V Live ‘on September 7 that involved an inappropriate comment from a member of the personal.
We would like to address that regardless of any reasoning, this staff member’s comment during the live broadcast was highly inappropriate and we will take punitive action with respect to the person responsible.
F-ENT will take special care so that this problem does not reoccur in the future.
Once again, we apologize to the fans of FANATICS and promise to do everything we can to protect our artists. Thank you.”
