KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of Health has advised people to practice “what is right and correct what is wrong” to comply with Covid-19 protocols in meetings or public places.

Chief Health Officer Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said the public should be aware of the growing number of cases in social gathering groups that did not follow the rules.

“This includes large gatherings involving family members, celebrations and religious ceremonies. People with symptoms were also at these meetings, “he said in a statement here today.

Noor Hisham mentioned that Enggor Cluster in Perak and Indah Mas Cluster in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor started from a family gathering, from which the infections continued to spread within the community.

He said the Inai and Jambul groups in Sabah were among the groups that originated from celebratory events; The Mentari group that affects Selangor, Negeri Sembilan and Kuala Lumpur was the result of a religious ceremony in which relatives and acquaintances who attended a funeral in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan participated.

“In fact, it is difficult to practice physical distancing in crowded and confined areas, however, taking note of these groups, the public should follow the advice of the ministry. It is important for us to always be cautious and strive to protect ourselves, our family and the people around us from Covid-19, ”he said.
