JOHOR BARU: For many families, Budget 2021 has brought some joy.
Businesswoman Lim Chai Hui, 27, praised the move to allow people to withdraw RM500 per month for 12 months from Account 1 of their Employee Provident Fund, saying it would benefit many, especially those who recently lost. their works.
“I think it will be especially beneficial for those with young children, as they would need extra money to buy essentials like diapers and milk formula.
“They don’t necessarily have to get it out, but it’s nice to know it’s available to them,” he said.
The mother-of-two said she would withdraw the money only when necessary. Even then, she said the money would only be used for her children’s needs, as they are between seven months and five years old.
Technician K. Prakash, 42, said he planned to remove the RM500 from Account 1 of his EPF to help his two sons in college.
“I lost my job in Singapore in March, but I was lucky because I recently got a part-time job as a coach here. Although money is tight, I can still handle it.
“My concern is for my two children. They may need money for things related to their studies, but they are afraid to ask for it, ”he said.
He would give it to him as pocket money, he added.
Administration assistant Nurul Aisha Mohd Yusoff, 33, said she was very grateful for the Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat (BPR) cash delivery outlined in the 2021 Budget.
“These cash donations had previously helped my husband and I weather the financial storm during the MCO (motion control order), especially when it comes to making sure my children have enough.
“Based on my husband’s and my income, we should be able to get approximately RM1,800 from the BPR cash donation,” she said.
The money, he said, would be used for the educational needs of his eight-year-old daughter.
