PUTRAJAYA: Failure to record customer data tops the list of recovery movement control order violations where police arrested 56 offenders, says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The Chief Minister said the facility operators were among 239 people arrested by the task force monitoring compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) across the country on Sunday (December 20).

Police also arrested 77 people who did not practice social distancing, 53 people for not wearing masks in crowded public places and 49 people were caught for participating in activities in entertainment centers, which is still on the negative list.

The task force carried out 40,439 checks on Sunday, including supermarkets, restaurants, street vendors, factories, government offices, banks and transportation terminals.

Ismail Sabri said police authorities detained 25 illegal immigrants during the Ops Benteng exercise on Sunday and seized three vehicles.

“Measures will be taken against those who enter the country illegally. There is no compromise on this, ”he said on Monday (December 21).

On the public sanitation exercise, Ismail Sabri said that 38 operations were carried out in 11 states, including Sabah and also in Kuala Lumpur.

Since March 30, operations under the Ministry of Housing and Local Government had carried out 12,911 sanitation exercises.

Ismail Sabri said that since July 24, some 89,787 people had returned to the country and underwent quarantine at government-designated locations.

There are currently 7,844 people under mandatory quarantine.
