PETALING JAYA: Private universities and colleges may continue with external and international examinations according to the schedule established by their respective organizations.

The Higher Education Ministry said the decision was made after taking into account the fixed schedules that these exams must follow.

“This decision involves a total of 3,031 local students and 195 international students in four states that are under the conditional MCO.

“Students must obtain a confirmation letter from their respective institutions,” the ministry said in a statement on Wednesday (October 14).

Tests of three categories are involved in the exemption.

The first group are students taking A-Levels, Australian enrollment, Canadian high school, and the like.

The latter are students who have registered to take the exam with external exam providers or for international exams, and finally, students who have registered to take the Association of Certified Certified Accountants (ACCA) exam.

The exemption, the ministry said, is subject to private higher education institutions’ compliance with standard operating procedures and is based on government decisions from time to time.

Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya were placed under conditional OLS from Wednesday (October 14) until October 27.

The conditional MCO was implemented in Sabah from Tuesday (October 13) to October 26.
