Ex-CEO of UEM Sunrise appointed Managing Director of Malakoff

PETALING JAYA: Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib has been appointed Managing Director of Malakoff Corporation Bhd, less than two weeks after his resignation as CEO of UEM Sunrise Bhd.

The announcement regarding Bursa Malaysia indicated that his appointment will be effective from December 1.

The 47-year-old was managing director and chief executive officer of UEM Sunrise from 2014 until his resignation in October.

He had also been group head of the ports and logistics division of MMC Corporation Bhd from January 2014 to August of that same year, and also CFO of the company from June 2008 to August 2014.

Anwar Syahrin is a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales and also a Fellow of the Institute of Accountants of Malaysia.

He holds an MBA from the University of Salford in the UK and a BA in mechanical engineering from the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine in London.
