Here’s a friendly reminder: Eligible Malaysians who have yet to redeem their RM50 ePenjana e-wallet credit have until September 24 to do so, after which they have until the end of the month to spend it.
According to a frequently asked question, any remaining ePenjana credits will automatically expire on September 30, after which users will no longer be able to use the unused incentive credit in their e-wallet.
In a Bernama report, Deputy Finance Minister II Mohd Shahar Abdullah said that a total of RM495.4 thousand was channeled to 9.9 million successful ePenjana applicants as of August 21. Applications for the ePenjana incentive first opened on July 31.
The Ministry of Finance in the ePenjana FAQ estimated that 15 million Malaysians can benefit from the initiative.
The first step of the application process requires users to download and register at MySejahtera, the government’s Covid-19 contact tracing app.
Users can request the ePenjana incentive through an e-wallet of their choice, namely Boost, Touch ‘n Go eWallet or GrabPay.
To be eligible, applicants must also be 18 years or older with an annual income of less than RM100,000 based on the latest records from the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN).
During the ePenjana application process through the e-wallet service of their choice, applicants must ensure that the name they enter matches the name they used during the MySejahtera Registration process.
The approval process for the ePenjana incentive could take up to five days and applicants can only claim the RM50 credit once, which will be automatically credited to the applicant’s preferred e-wallet.
Successful applicants will also receive an additional RM50 in vouchers, rebates, or reward points from their respective e-wallet providers.
