Eight-year-old girl among three new deaths from Covid-19 on Sunday (Nov 15)

PETALING JAYA: One of the new deaths from Covid-19 on Sunday (November 15) was an eight-year-old girl from Sabah.

Health Director General Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said the girl was one of three new deaths from Covid-19, all from Sabah, bringing the death toll in the country to 309.

The girl died while being cared for at Tawau Hospital.

The second death involved a 77-year-old man who had a history of high blood pressure, heart disease and kidney disease, who was admitted to Duchess of Kent Hospital.

The third was a 63-year-old woman with a history of diabetes, high blood pressure and kidney disease who was also admitted to the same hospital.

“The Health Ministry conveys its condolences to members of his family,” Dr. Noor Hisham said in a statement Sunday.

He added that three new clusters were identified.

The Plaza group involves the Kota Kinabalu district in Sabah, with the index case identified through a Covid-19 screening on November 11.

There are 12 cases that are linked to this group.

Jalan Kalabakan’s group involves Sabah’s Tawau district, with the index case identified through a Covid-19 test on October 31.

There are 22 cases that are linked to this group.

The Jeri cluster involves Johor’s Kota Tinggi, Mersing and Muar districts, with the index case identified through a Covid-19 detection at an international point of entry in Singapore on November 6.

There are 26 cases that are linked to this group.

Dr. Noor Hisham also said that Bah Arnab’s group in Kuching, Sarawak has ended.

The group was linked to 12 positive cases of Covid-19. No deaths were recorded.
