PETALING JAYA: Celebrity preacher and philanthropist Ebit Lew put aside differences in religion and donated essentials to a church in Lahad Datu, Sabah, earning praise from social media users.

In a Facebook post, Lew said he visited St. Dominic’s Catholic Church where he met Father Simon, a parish priest. He said he was touched to learn that the priest knew him.

“We talked about how important it is to share love and kindness. Despite the differences in religion, we are a family, ”he said.

Lew, in another act of generosity that transcends race and religion, donated 100 sets of food packages, 10 wheelchairs and face masks to the church.

His post has attracted more than 10,000 comments, with many thanking and praising the preacher.

Habibah Mohammed said that Lew was “the best”, noting that like Prophet Muhammad, Lew treated everyone the same regardless of race and religion.

“He is the best among Malaysians. The most humble, ”said another user of social networks, Vasanthi Shanthi.

Meanwhile, Fileny Nita described Lew as “one in a million” for helping everyone, regardless of religion.

Lew’s visit to the church is part of his 10-day humanitarian mission to help the less fortunate in Sabah’s Tawau, Lahad Datu, Kunak and Semporna districts.

He is accompanied by a team of 18 people, who flew to Sabah with tickets at special prices thanks to Malaysia Airlines.
