KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): Two men were arrested after leading police in a high-speed chase here on Friday (December 18).
Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Arifai Tarawe said that in the 9 p.m. incident, a team of police officers on patrol spotted the two suspects, 28 and 31, in a suspiciously behaving car along Jalan Besar Selayang .
He said the police ordered the driver of the vehicle to stop for an inspection, but instead sped towards Rawang, driving the patrol to chase him.
“The team, with the help of the traffic police, pursued him until the vehicle reached Rawang city before changing direction and heading towards Kota Damansara.
“Upon reaching a stoplight in Section 11, Kota Damansara, the car crashed into a motorcycle and the vehicle came to a stop, ultimately leading to the arrest of the suspects,” he said Saturday.
ACP Arifai said an inspection of the trunk of the car found 95 packs of cigarettes and a clear plastic pack containing drugs believed to be methamphetamine.
“The police also found a pill believed to be Erimin 5 in one of the suspect’s wallets,” he said.
He said the suspects have been detained for 10 days starting Saturday for investigations under Section 186 of the Penal Code, Section 135 (1) (d) of the 1967 Customs Act, and Section 12 (2) of the Act. of Dangerous Drugs of 1952. – Bernama
