PETALING JAYA: Three policemen and a soldier have been praised for arresting two foreigners who tried to bribe them.
“On August 30, a crime prevention team consisting of two police corporals, a police officer and a private with the rank of private on patrol in Kota Damansara saw a car with two suspicious-looking occupants,” he said, and He added that they tried to stop the vehicle but it accelerated.
“The car was stopped at Lorong Teknologi C and the two suspects, both foreigners, were found without driver’s licenses or identification documents.
“One of the suspects offered them RM500 with the promise of more if they would let them go,” Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal said in a statement on Wednesday (September 2).
The two suspects were arrested and have been in custody for seven days.
He said the police also seized the car the two suspects were in.
“I am very proud of the four of them for upholding the law and adhering to its principles. I will recommend them for letters of recommendation,” he said.
On the other hand, the police arrested four men linked to an armed robbery in the parking lot of a shopping center here.
“At midnight on August 30, a robbery occurred in the parking lot of a shopping center at PJU5 / 22, where a 38-year-old victim was assaulted by four suspects.
“One of the suspects opened the car door and pointed a machete at the victim and stole several personal items,” he said.
On September 1, a police team arrested four suspects after acting on the basis of certain information.
“All four, ages 15 to 34, had prior criminal records, including robbery, vehicle theft and drug-related crimes.
“The four also admitted to various other robberies in the Kota Damansara area,” he said.
“We confiscated four shoulder bags, seven cell phones, a laptop, two motorcycles, a hammer, bolt cutters and a long knife.
Three of the four have been in preventive detention for seven days and the other for five days.
