KUCHING (Nov.1): All 82 state assembly members will be required to undergo Covid-19 swab testing on Nov.6 and 7 before the next session of the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) scheduled for Nov.9-18.

In a letter dated October 31 seen today by The Borneo Post, DUN Secretary Pele Peter Tinggom said the president had directed him to inform members of the august House to undergo hyssop tests earlier. of the session.

In this regard, the secretary said that DUN, in collaboration with the Normah Center for Medical Specialists, would establish drive-thru swab testing at the DUN Sarawak Complex.

Drive-thru swab tests will be available at the VIP entrance (Foyer) in the DUN Complex on November 6, between 9 am and 4 pm, as well as on November 7, from 8 am to noon.

Each of these scheduled sessions is limited to 40 to 50 tests.

“The costs for all tests will be borne by DUN Sarawak. If any members of the August Chamber are unable to attend the scheduled swab tests, they are encouraged to do their own swab tests three days before the session, and can redeem the cost by presenting the invoice. to DUN Sarawak.

“The results of the swab tests can be obtained within 24 to 48 hours and must be submitted to DUN Sarawak as a record before attending the session,” he said.

Pele said that if a covid-19 test result is not presented to DUN Sarawak before or on the first day of the session, the August House member would be prohibited from attending the session.

He also reminded all state assemblymen who will attend the session to strictly abide by the standard operating procedures (SOPs) established by the Ministry of Health, the National Security Council and the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee.
