PUTRAJAYA: Describing Covid-19 and corruption as pandemics, Health Director General Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah has called for efforts to “heal” the country to be carried out with integrity.

The Health Ministry, he said, praised the efforts of all parties, especially the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in the fight against corruption, especially during the recovery and control phase of Covid-19.

“During the challenging situation caused by the pandemic, the actions of the corrupters will inhibit efforts to achieve recovery, both in health and in the economy.

“We in the Ministry of Health will give all our support and cooperation to the MACC in the fight against corruption and abuse of power,” he said on Wednesday (December 9).

Dr. Noor Hisham said this in his message in conjunction with the celebration of the International Anti-Corruption Day 2020 on Wednesday (December 9).

The United Nations had established this year’s theme as “United Against Corruption”, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a special theme “Recover with integrity” was also included.
