PETALING JAYA: Pejuang will accept Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s advice and make sure the country is politically stable, says Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad.

He added that his group will also cooperate with everyone to address the Covid-19 threat.

Welcoming the King’s decision not to issue a state of emergency proclamation, Dr. Mahathir said Pejuang also thanked politicians for their advice to reduce their politicking.

“Of course, this is not just limited to opposition politicians, but includes government politicians,” he said in a statement on Monday (October 26).

Dr. Mahathir then added that he hoped that the government and government politicians would put an end to actions such as removing politicians from office if they did not support the government, stopping the appointments of elected representatives who do not support his actions.

He also said he hoped the government would also stop buying from supporters of opposition parties, forcing elections to be held and rejecting the registration of political parties like Pejuang.

Dr. Mahathir also thanked the King for his action in putting the interests of the people first in making a wise decision on the proposal to declare a state of emergency.

On Sunday (October 25), Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah reminded all politicians to immediately stop all forms of politicking that could disturb the stability of the country’s administration.

It also decided that it was not necessary for a state of emergency to be proclaimed in the country at this time.

Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin requested on Friday (October 23) the emergency proclamation under article 150 (1) and the proclamation of the emergency ordinance (essential powers 2020) pursuant to article 150 (2B) of the Federal Constitution to combat the threat of the Covid-19 Pandemic in the country.
