YOUR OPINION | “The time has come for the Malaysian nation and politics to cease to be under their control.”
Dr. M: If Anwar is successful, he will be under the control of Najib and Zahid.
IndigoTrout2522: We don’t know yet if PKR President Anwar Ibrahim has the numbers, but if he does, Dr. Mahathir Mohamad will be one of the losers.
Mahathir himself had tried to recruit MPs from Umno to cross over to support him. If he had been successful, he would have left DAP.
He was successful the first time, shortly after the last general election, recruiting a dozen to join Bersatu. This time, he failed and therefore lost the majority, Bersatu and the post of prime minister.
His Pejuang group is now a lone wolf with only five MPs. He would do anything to prevent Anwar from succeeding and becoming a PM, just as he had done with other PMs and DPMs.
For him, it’s him or the road. His ego, pride, revenge, division, authoritarianism and racism are still on display.
There are many good, selfless, incorruptible, service-oriented leaders in every political party, and likewise there are many selfish, greedy, corruptible, and selfish leaders in every party. With good, sincere and strong leadership, it is to be expected that Malaysia will be led by the first group.
Not all who come to power will automatically be subordinate to the leaders of the Umno, Najib Abdul Razak or Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, or even Mahathir. The time has come for a new generation of leaders to rise up to rule this nation. That is the hope of the Malaysians.
Gerard Lourdesamy: Mahathir, the mastermind behind the Sheraton Move, speaks up. Enough of your play.
We know that Muhyiddin Yassin, Azmin Ali, Hishammuddin Hussein and Hamzah Zainuddin are all their representatives. The conspiracy to stop Anwar and weaken PKR and DAP began with their blessings in late 2018 and early 2019.
He did not intend to deliver the publication to Anwar and did not like working with PKR and DAP. So, you have your proxies to interact with Umno, PAS and GPS.
However, his desire for an exclusively Malay government under his absolute control did not materialize because Umno refused to allow him to rob his MPs individually. Even now, your drama with Pejuang is just that.
You are very happy to allow Muhyiddin and Bersatu to run the show at Umno’s expense. The grand plan is to incapacitate Umno by sending all of its top leaders to jail and freezing their assets to gain control of Umno.
Eventually, Bersatu takes over Umno, initially through a power-sharing agreement and then through seat negotiations for GE15, before a reverse takeover using the power and privileges of the prime minister.
Too bad that several deputies from Umno have decided to take down Perikatan Nasional (PN) and go with Anwar.
Even if Anwar doesn’t make it, a GE snap will take down Bersatu, Pejuang, you, Muhyiddin, Azmin, Hamzah, and the rest of the traitors and deserters.
Umno will win on its own, even without PAS. Bersatu will cease to exist. The time has come for the Malaysian nation and politics to cease to be under your control.
Darmakochi: Don’t forget, Mahathir, that you also put Anwar under your control even though you became prime minister for the second time, and that’s because PKR gave you their support.
After you took over, you screwed up everything and betrayed the trust people placed in you. The country is in a political mess because of you. He disappears from the political scene.
White mamba: In fact, Mahathir is the cause of what is happening in Malaysia today. The Sheraton Move couldn’t have happened without your blessings
I remember a video circulating on social media of a group celebrating Pakatan Harapan’s victory shortly after GE14. When asked about Mahathir, a young woman said that at her age she could not have a personal agenda.
Well, how wrong we were!
YellowGopher3008: Yes, the current sad state of this country was caused by a great teacher who was wrong, knew it was wrong, and yet did it for decades to serve his selfish agenda.
Low levels of education, low income economy, low living standards, low integrity but highly corrupt politicians are all the results of their actions.
Vgeorgemy: Some Malaysian-Muslim MPs have now taken a position that treacherous elements are much more dangerous than the DAP.
So it has nothing to do with Najib or Zahid, but with the party that betrayed the trust of the voters. Therefore, we can live with these Malaysian-Muslim MPs.
Caripasal: We know. Only Mahathir is the best PM. Only Mahathir can be the prime minister without the influence of Najib and Zahid.
We do not agree with the inclusion of deputies from Umno. However, we hate traitors more. Even if Umno is using Anwar to force snap elections, it is better than allowing those traitors to continue to rule the country through a backdoor government.
I wonder if Mahathir will convince Warisan and GPS to support Anwar, should his son Muhkriz receive the post of Deputy Prime Minister (DPM). If he does, the chance of Anwar bowing to Umno is less (Mahathir’s exact excuse for rejecting Muhyiddin as PM).
We’ll see if he chooses a “liberal” Anwar (his reason for rejecting Anwar) in exchange for Muhkriz for DPM.
Sensitivity: On this, I fully agree with the old man. Muhyiddin refused to drop the charges against Zahid and Najib was convicted. So apparently now they are dealing with Anwar. Only fools can’t see it.
The Wakandan: Well, this is the day that Mahathir dreads the most: Anwar by chance becoming PM. The person he doesn’t want to be PM the most is Anwar, not so much Najib Abdul Razak.
Like Abdullah Ahmad Badawi before him, he also did not push for Mahathir’s pet projects. However, Anwar is another fish pot altogether.
He knows all about Mahathir after being with him in the 80s and 90s. He also has a personal account to settle with Mahathir after the latter put him in jail, and that is a very strong motivation for a man to match the account. .
Mahathir’s weak point is his family, particularly his children. Anwar can do a lot of damage to Mahathir’s vulnerability.
Hang Babeuf: Have you, or anyone, seen anything like it? I like this?
I’ve seen a lot of political “messes” in my life. But Malaysia’s current version of “the whole political thing” is truly world-class.
Credit must go where it is due. Such things are not easily accomplished. Achieving them requires the utmost obstinacy and illusion, in addition to the stupidity and stubbornness of all players – a large number of deeply committed but equally ignorant players.
Syabas, Malaysia! Keeping promises: a land where anything and everything can happen, a land of infinite possibilities.
But where nothing, nothing really new, ever does, because all the conflicting possibilities together cancel each other out. Well done!
“Malaysian boleh!” Can you do what exactly …? Now? How?
