‘Don’t think you are indispensable because you are not’

YOUR OPINION | “Does Mahathir think that, apart from him, no one is capable of running Malaysia?”

Mahathir reconsiders decision not to compete in next GE

IndigoTrout2522: It is difficult to understand the state of mind of former Prime Minister Dr. Mahathir Mohamad at this age. Is power and position that important to him?

A good, confident leader would take pride in preparing and trusting the youth to take charge. The problem is that Mahathir cannot work with anyone or trust anyone. He has too much ego and it is always his way or the highway.

None of his deputy prime ministers were able to work with him. When Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Najib Abdul Razak did not obey his orders, he undermined them. He did the same with Anwar Ibrahim. Do you understand that Malaysia could still go on without him?

The rakyat would really want to remember him as a great statesman, having already served 24 years as prime minister, even with mixed and contradictory results. Instead, he continues to criticize all these people who have worked with and for him. They weren’t perfect, but neither was Mahathir.

He was rejected by Umno, then by Umno Baru, then Bersatu and now he is forming Pejuang. Are you not tired of all this politics? Even if he isn’t, I think the rakyat are tired of him.

Hood: Mahathir, if he had been fighting corruption from 1981 to 2020, we would not have seen any mega scandals or foreign exchange losses worth billions and billions of ringgit.

Had he been fighting corruption, Najib, his protégé, would not have even dared to initiate the 1MDB scandal.

If he had been fighting corruption, the anti-skip law would be in effect today and the Pakatan Harapan government would still be in power.

And if you were a man of honor, you would have passed the witness of the position of prime minister to Anwar as agreed. The electorate despises you for stealing their mandate and betraying them.

BlueShark1548: Mahathir has contempt for our nation. He resigned as prime minister when there was no need to do so. No one had the votes to file a no-confidence motion against him when Harapan supported him. He resigned even though Yang di-Pertuan Agong advised him not to.

Now you want to contest the next elections, at 96 years old? Does Mahathir think that, apart from him, no one is capable of managing Malaysia?

The country goes downhill through the Third World countries, where dictators rule and there is no moral, integrity, public order, justice and judicial independence. Corruption and abuse of power have returned and educational levels are falling.

Young politicians dare not remove those over 70 from office. They are ‘Find food‘politicians who have no vision of the nation and rakyat.

Bobby0: Well, as they say, it is a free world. Any Malaysian can participate in the elections. Mahathir has his rights as a citizen.

There are only two facts you have to face. First, he had been rejected by Malaysians for the role he played in the Sheraton Move. Second, he denied Anwar the post of prime minister even after promising to honor his words.

With these two actions, people have now completely lost trust and respect for him.

The Malaysian: Haven’t you done enough damage, Mahathir? Dignity must exist (You should have some pride). We have had enough of you.

No one is like you who possesses a perfected deception skill. With your own masterstrokes over the past six decades, you personally educated and groomed today’s group of criminals in government whose greed knows no bounds.

Previously it had been, was and today continues to be the facilitator of corruption and racial division in Malaysia.

Anwar is so different from you that you just can’t stand it. At Anwar, we believe. Unlike you, Anwar has humility and genuine love for the country. He respects all people and, to top it all, when he talks about ‘dignity’ it makes sense. When you talk about ‘dignity’, Has no sense.

Enough the H, Mahathir.

Undecided: I believe that most thinking people who do not benefit from Mahathir’s policies have already concluded that he is largely responsible for the current political uncertainty in Malaysia.

You may not realize it, but the majority of those who supported him in the 14th general election have already given up.

Mahathir speaks of principles. However, the most important principle, which is to treat the citizens of the country equally, is not in him as a leader, even today.

This is due to their stubborn need to continue promoting a Malay bourgeois class. For that reason alone, it is no longer relevant to moving the country forward.

BluePanther4725: At the age of 95, Mahathir still wants to harm Malaysia. Mahathir wanted to compete so that he could remain corrupt and destroy our country. What a greedy and selfish old man.

Go compete and let us have the satisfaction of seeing this traitor lose. I don’t know who his fans are, but it’s definitely not the Malaysian people.

Masul: Let’s not look at personalities. We want someone to lead this country who is full of integrity, physical and mental strength.

If Mahathir does not have the physical strength, he should retreat, no matter what his followers say. And his followers should understand this.

From there, we can make our selection based on these criteria. And without much homework, we can easily eliminate those leaders from our list. They are too obvious for us to close our eyes, unless we are “blind.”

Asitis: He always says that “some fans” want him to come back. But who are these followers? It never says. It’s more likely an excuse you made up to change your mind.

Salvage Malaysia: It is your Mahathir prerogative, whether you want to compete or not. And it is the voters’ prerogative whether they will vote for you again or send you back to permanent retirement.
