Don’t have a smartphone for MySejahtera? No problem! 80-year-old man uses a stamp to register

What I rarely think about is how difficult it must be for seniors and people who can’t use or own smartphones, especially when asked to scan MySejahtera QR codes. But for 80-year-old Uncle Gan Hwee Loon, he has found a perfect solution to speed up the registration process before entering a store.

Usually, if you don’t have a smartphone to scan the QR code before entering a store, there will still be a log book and a pen for you to write your name and phone number. However, it takes longer to do, it is not as hygienic and it is a difficult process, especially for people with vision problems like Mr. Gan.

To solve his problem, Mr. Gan ordered a personal stamp that can stamp his name and phone number. You can use it to quickly add your data to a store log book.

Mr. Gan, who lives in Kampung Sungai Sayong, Kluang, said that due to his poor eyesight it was difficult for him to write his details on his own. He also said that it was difficult for him to ask others to write for him, so he spent RM 20 to get the stamp.

“I just carry it with me all the time, to makan, to ‘yumcha’ and also to go shopping. I just need to press the pad into the book, which is very convenient and saves me time, ”he said.

If you want a stamp for yourself, or if there is someone who you think would like one, you can request it online. AE Stamp offers a wide range of stamps that you can customize, including antibacterial stamps and even electronic Colop branding if you’re feeling fancy, which I have reviewed. There are also other websites like RubberStamps and EZ Stamp, and the products range from RM10 onwards.

There is also Selangkad, a card with a unique QR code that allows store owners to scan the card each time a person with a disability enters the store. However, they are only made for people with disabilities, not seniors.
