Tamrin Ghafar says that it is impossible that Zuraida Kamaruddin does not know about the projects under her ministry.

PETALING JAYA: Tamrin Ghafar responded to the Minister of Housing and Local Government, Zuraida Kamaruddin, after she linked the former MP with one of her ministry’s projects that were allegedly approved directly by former Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng.

Zuraida had said that Tamrin, as an advisor to Bumi Segar Indah, had met and directly negotiated the solid waste transfer station project with Lim on November 26, 2018.

He claimed that Tamrin, son of former Deputy Prime Minister Ghafar Baba, was a staunch supporter of Pakatan Harapan (PH).

He also stated that Lim agreed to reduce the cost of the project by 10% and recommended that the company approach the local Ministry of Housing and Government to make a formal proposal.

“After that, the project was approved by the Lim Finance Ministry through a letter dated February 20 to the secretary general of the Ministry of Housing and Local Government,” he said.

Tamrin questioned Zuraida’s intent by linking him to the matter and told the minister not to involve or blame other people for his own failure.

“It is impossible for a minister to know nothing of the matter when the finance ministry only acts in accordance with the recommendations of the housing and local government ministry.

“I will let my attorneys decide the next course of action,” he said today in a statement.
