Dogs ready for the return of the White House

Joe Biden promises to bring a lot of things back to America now that he’s in and President Donald Trump is out. Unity, responsibility, compassion and a dog in the White House.

One is Champ, who has been with the Bidens since 2008. The other is Major, who the Bidens fostered and then adopted in 2018.

The canines nosing around on the lawn of the presidential mansion are a long-standing staple in America.

Barack Obama playfully muzzled a Bo, a black Portuguese water dog. George W. Bush had a Scottish terrier, Barney. Bill Clinton? A chocolate labrador retriever named Buddy.

Enter Trump, a famous meticulous germophobic and the first president of the United States in more than a century not to have a dog.

“How would I see myself walking a dog on the White House lawn?” Trump asked, with a grin, in a video included in a Biden campaign ad.

Now, make way for Team Biden’s canine crew.

Biden officials say Major will become the first rescue dog to live in the White House.

“Choose your humans wisely,” says Biden’s ad on presidential dogs. – AFP Relaxnews
