KUALA LUMPUR: Restaurants and other businesses in the city will still have to close before midnight, says the Kuala Lumpur City Council (DBKL).
This is despite the decision of the National Security Council (MKN) that allows companies to operate until 2 a.m. M.
DBKL said daily observation of 7,200 business premises revealed the need for better adherence to standard operating procedures during the recovery motion control (MCO) order.
“It was decided during the Kuala Lumpur Crisis Management Center meeting yesterday (September 11), that companies can only operate until midnight during the MCO recovery.
“This uniformity would also allow better monitoring of the facilities by DBKL and other agencies,” it said in a statement.
On Thursday (September 10), Chief Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that the National Security Council had agreed to extend the hours of operation for all businesses, including restaurants and convenience stores, until 2 a.m. am, following requests from operators.
