Dad lost for 20 years found in nursing home abroad

SINGAPORE: “We found Abah.”

This marked the end of the search for Ali Jais by his three sons, less than 24 hours after Bernama reported on him.

Ali, 84, and her children have been separated for the past 20 years. You are now here at the Bukit Batok Home for the Aged.

The children believe he had been in Singapore all these years, according to Malaysian Immigration Department controls a few years ago.

“Abah is in good health. They informed me that he remembers all of our names.

“When they asked him the names of the children … they are all correct,” said his eldest daughter, Hasliza Ali, who contacted Bernama with the good news.

Hasliza, 41, said the residence also confirmed the identity of her father through a copy of the identity card in its possession.

“According to the house, Abah reminds us. It’s just that he doesn’t know how to contact us, ”he said cheerfully.

The appeal made by Khazimah Ali, his youngest daughter, was also shared on the Facebook page of the border crossings between Malaysia and Singapore, which now has about 72,000 members.

The only photo of his father that he kept was also attached in the post.

“Someone informed me this afternoon (yesterday) via WhatsApp about the whereabouts of Abah, and my older sister immediately contacted the call center,” said Khazimah, 37.

She has expressed her hopes of being able to celebrate Aidilfitri for the first time with him next year.
