Cube Entertainment has denied rumors that (G) I-DLE’s Soojin is a perpetrator of school violence in high school.
On February 20, someone claiming to be the older brother of a victim of Soojin’s alleged harassment posted on an online community. The older brother (hereinafter referred to as “A”) wrote: “[Soojin] I called my little sister and her friend to the bathroom, made them slap each other, and they sent a group text message saying, ‘From now on, OOO (my sister) is an outcast.’
“A” continued, “My little sister went to Waw High School and was born in 1998. She lives in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province. I plan to carefully write and post the details in an online forum later. I feel sorry for the other [members] in addition to the perpetrator, but I can no longer turn a blind eye to the painful moment that my sister lived. The girl who slapped my sister, took her money and bullied her has become an idol and blatantly shows her face on television. “
A person who claims to be the younger sister and victim of the alleged harassment (hereinafter “B”) also spoke. “B” stated: “After [Soojin] She took me to a bathroom in a shopping complex, she said, ‘I’ll hit her first,’ and suddenly she slapped me. Then she told my friend who was coming with me, ‘Now it’s your turn to hit her,’ and she made my friend hit me. My friend and I had to slap each other. “
“B” added, “She made me drink the drink she had opened and left unfinished and then she took my money, saying that I had finished her drink and that I had to pay her. He took other people’s uniforms and wore them, borrowed money and did not return it, stole other people’s belongings, cursed other students when they refused to give him their belongings, roamed around town on horseback behind one of the boys older than had a motorcycle, drank alcohol and smoked.
“I went to the same academy as her, and one day, I couldn’t go, but she texted me to come no matter what. I apologized and said it wouldn’t be possible, but from then on she and the criminal group texted me and everyone else saying, ‘*** is an outcast from now on.’ I was so scared that I called her and kept apologizing. “
On February 21, Cube Entertainment released an official statement on the matter. Read the statement below:
First, when checking with Soojin herself about the post about Soojin from (G) I-DLE that is spreading online, it was discovered that the creator of the comment is the older sister of Soojin’s high school classmate. It’s true that the poster overheard Soojin and her classmate arguing over the phone and had an argument with Soojin after taking over the call. However, we have confirmed that the poster’s claims about school violence and so on were not true at all.
We ask you so that the members, who are doing their best in every moment to achieve their dreams and moving forward step by step, no longer get hurt. We are planning to take legal action under criminal law and take any other action we can as a company against all those who have indiscreetly posted false claims with malicious intent. We inform you that we will not show indulgence towards the perpetrators who will be punished in the future.
On December 15, Cube Entertainment established a committee dedicated to protecting the rights and interests of artists and has been continuously monitoring the spread of false rumors, insults, and sexual comments and edits designed to cause humiliation towards our artists. We are working on filing criminal complaints through a law firm.
