Covid-19: Two new clusters detected, including one in Penang, says Director General of Health

PETALING JAYA: Two new clusters have been registered in the country, says Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah.

The director general of Health said that the new Usaha group was detected in Klang and Petaling in Selangor.

“The index case in this group was detected from a symptomatic screening of an individual on October 30. All cases have been admitted to Sungai Buloh Hospital.

“As of noon on November 1, 25 people had been tested, 17 of whom tested positive, five negative and three others were still awaiting their results,” he said in a statement on Sunday (November 1).

Dr. Noor Hisham added that the new Tembaga group was detected northeast and southwest of Penang.

He said the group’s index case was identified from a Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (Sari) screening test on October 28, adding that all the positive cases have been admitted to Penang Hospital.

Dr. Noor Hisham said that 69 people from this group had been tested, seven tested positive, 13 negative, and 49 were still awaiting their results.
