Covid-19: Two new clusters detected in Sabah, says the Director General of Health

PETALING JAYA: Two new Covid-19 clusters were reported in the country on Tuesday (December 1), both in Sabah.

Chief Health Officer Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah (Photo) It said in a statement that the Kolombong group in Kota Kinabalu and Tuaran has registered 40 positive cases out of 76 people tested.

He said the index case was detected on December 1 as a result of examining people with symptoms.

Dr. Noor Hisham added that the Talang-Talang group in Kota Kinabalu has reported 18 positive cases among 67 people tested.

The index case, which was reported on November 23, was detected as a result of detecting people with symptoms.

So far, a total of 364 Covid-19 clusters have been reported in the country, of which 180 are still active.

A total of 33 of them reported new cases, including the Teratai group linked to Top Glove (778 cases), the Hentian group (118) and the Batu Tujuh group (37)

Dr. Noor Hisham said three groups finished Tuesday: the Highway, Inai and Jalan Meru groups, bringing the total number of groups finished to 184.
